Captimise in the news!!
July 22, 2022
Captimise’ work attract much interest in the bioenergy business field across Europe. One should understand though, that whether a customer contemplate a Carbon Capture and Storage solution (CCS), or a combination with Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) - in both cases the transportation cost is particularly important. The location of the plant is also important, and too few fully appreciate that the logistics operation has the potential to change the entire business case, as well as significantly impact the equipment on site. Below, a map over available final storage sites in the North Atlantic.
There are over different thirty (30) capture technologies to choose between and each has own advantages. Which is the best match is depending on the characteristics and capabilities of the specific plant. The full chain is complex, with interdependencies forwards and backwards, and with a multitude of different suppliers to the individual parts. That is why it is important to understand the full chain before committing to anything!
Captimise have found that a stepwise approach is really the best approach and then learn along the way. That is what worked best with our customers which we discuss in an interview.
