About Captimise

How it all started

Our Experience

Captimise AB is a specialist within CCS with deep knowledge and over 15-year experience of CCS projects in USA and Europe. Please see the list of the projects that Captimise staff has been involved in over the years enclosed.

The mission

The mission of Captimise is to “Cut the cost of CCS” and this is possible since the team at Captimise has previously worked in different engineering companies supplying different technology concepts including Amines, Chilled Ammonia, HPC and Oxyfuel. Since 2018 when Captimise was founded, the team is totally independent from the suppliers. The history provides a deep insight into the technologies and the independence from the technologies provides a great value for emitters that needs to understand the alternative technologies prior to start the purchasing process.

At present time, Captimise has worked in several industrial sectors:

  • Combined Heat and Power plants (CHP). Both 100% biomass and/or waste and with or without integration of energy recovery to district heating system
  • Pulp and paper
  • Cement industry
  • Chemical manufacturing process industry
  • Oil and gas industry (refinery)

How we work

Unique database

Captimise has built up a unique data base of system data, costs and energy requirements of substantially all technology concepts and technology suppliers with only a few exceptions. This data provides an opportunity to match the emitters conditions and situation with heat and mass balances of the most relevant technologies and compare costs both Capex, Opex and cost per ton captured CO2 between the technologies.

Since all the data is readily available and continuously updated from the suppliers there is no need to have additional discussions with suppliers at the early stages of the studies and no need to sign any NDA’s. This saves time and cost in the early studies and avoids the need to discuss legal matters of the information prior to a procurement process.

We can also add a sensitivity analysis to that, at the request of our customers. The sensitivity analysis could be both direct and indirect, the end-perspective and parameters to look at determined in discussions with our customers on a case-by case basis. In addition, we also utilize Aspen Plus for detailed thermodynamic modelling.
